1. How we collect and use your user information
(1) Information collected and used when you use our products or services
We collect and use your user information only for the business functions described in this Policy. Where required by applicable law, we process your information on the following legal bases:
- Necessary for the performance of a contract: To provide core features such as sedentary reminders, break settings, and statistics, we need to process usage data on your device, such as work duration, check-in records, and local settings. This data is stored only on your local device and is not uploaded to our servers. If you do not provide it, for example by preventing the App from writing settings, we may be unable to provide the relevant services.
- Based on your consent: When you use the feedback feature, the content you voluntarily submit, together with the sender email address automatically included during email transmission, is sent to us. By submitting feedback, you consent to our processing of that information for this purpose. Because the information has already been sent, you cannot withdraw that specific submission, but you may contact us at any time to request deletion of feedback records we have received.
We will de-identify or anonymize collected user information in accordance with applicable law. Information that cannot identify a natural person either on its own or when combined with other information is not personal information in the legal sense.
If we intend to use your information for purposes not described in this Policy, we will notify you again and obtain your consent.
(2) Exceptions to obtaining consent
Under relevant laws and regulations, we may collect and use your user information without your consent in the following circumstances:
1. Directly related to national security or national defense;
2. Directly related to public safety, public health, or major public interests;
3. Directly related to criminal investigation, prosecution, trial, or enforcement of judgments;
4. Necessary to protect your or another individual's life, property, or other major lawful rights and
interests where it is practically impossible to obtain consent beforehand;
5. The user information has been voluntarily disclosed to the public by you;
6. The user information is collected from lawfully published or publicly disclosed sources;
7. Necessary to enter into or perform a contract at your request;
8. Necessary to maintain the security and stability of the software and related services;
9. Other circumstances provided by applicable laws and regulations.
2. How we use cookies and similar technologies
SitLess itself is a locally running desktop app and does not set or use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, or similar tracking technologies on your device.
Links to documents such as the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use inside the App open our self-hosted website in the system default browser. Those websites, not the App itself, may use cookies to improve the browsing experience. You can manage or disable cookies in your browser settings. This Policy does not apply to third-party websites, and we recommend that you review their privacy policies.
3. How we share, transfer, and publicly disclose your user information
(1) Sharing
We do not share your user information with any company, organization, or individual, except in the following cases:
1. With your explicit consent: We may share your user information with other parties.
2. As required by laws, regulations, or government authorities: We may share your user information externally as required by law or by competent government authorities.
3. Sharing with affiliates: We share only necessary user information and only for the purposes stated in this Privacy Policy. If an affiliate changes the processing purpose, it will seek your consent again.
4. Sharing with third-party service providers: We may engage third-party service providers to help provide services, such as email handling. Currently, we only use Tencent Foxmail as our email receiving service. They process your information only under our instructions and in accordance with this Policy.
The specific third-party service provider is listed below:
- Email service (Foxmail): When you send feedback, the email is processed through Tencent's email servers. Tencent's privacy policy applies to its services, and you may review Tencent's official privacy policy.
We require companies, organizations, and individuals with whom we share user information to comply with strict confidentiality obligations and to process user information according to our instructions, this Privacy Policy, and other relevant confidentiality and security measures.
(2) Transfer
We do not transfer your user information to any company, organization, or individual, except in the following cases:
1. Transfer with explicit consent;
2. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or bankruptcy liquidation involving the transfer of user information, we will require the new holder of your user information to continue to be bound by this Privacy Policy; otherwise, we will require that company or organization to seek your consent again.
(3) Public disclosure
We publicly disclose your user information only in the following cases:
1. After obtaining your explicit consent;
2. Disclosure based on law: We may publicly disclose your user information where required by laws, legal procedures, litigation, or competent government authorities.
(4) Exceptions to prior consent for sharing, transfer, or public disclosure
Under relevant laws and regulations, we may share, transfer, or publicly disclose your user information without prior consent in the following circumstances:
1. Directly related to national security or national defense security;
2. Directly related to public safety, public health, or major public interests;
3. Directly related to criminal investigation, prosecution, trial, or enforcement of judgments;
4. Necessary to protect your or another individual's life, property, or other major lawful rights and
interests where it is difficult to obtain consent;
5. Information disclosed to the public by you;
6. Information collected from lawfully publicly disclosed information.
4. How we protect your user information
(1) We use security measures that meet industry standards to protect the user information you provide and to prevent unauthorized access, public disclosure, use, modification, damage, or loss. For example, data transmitted when you send feedback is protected by standard email encryption protocols (such as TLS/SSL); we use encryption technology to protect confidentiality; and we restrict access to ensure that only authorized personnel can handle user inquiries.
(2) We retain your user information only for the period necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
(3) The internet is not an absolutely secure environment. We strongly recommend that you do not send user information through unencrypted methods such as email or instant messaging.
(4) In the unfortunate event of a user information security incident, we will notify you as required by laws and regulations and report the handling of the incident to regulatory authorities as required.
5. Your rights
Under applicable data protection laws, including GDPR and CCPA, you may have the following rights regarding your user information:
(1) Access your user information
You have the right to access your user information. You can exercise this right as follows:
- Usage data, such as duration data, check-in data, and exercise records: App - Statistics
- Personal information: The App does not actively collect personal information that can directly identify you, such as your name. When you use the feedback feature, your email client sends the feedback email to us. During email transmission, your sender email address (configured with your email service provider) is included as part of the email header. This is standard email protocol behavior. We do not store this address in an external user database, nor do we use it for marketing; it is processed solely to reply to your feedback. If you do not want to disclose your primary email address, you can use a temporary or masked email address before sending.
(2) Correct your user information
If you find that user information we process about you is incorrect, you have the right to request correction. You may contact us as described in Section 9.
(3) Delete your user information
You may request deletion of user information in the following circumstances:
1. If our processing of user information violates laws or regulations;
2. If we collect or use your user information without your consent;
3. If you no longer use our products or services;
4. If we no longer provide products or services to you.
You can exercise deletion rights locally by moving the App to the Trash and clearing the relevant local cache data. For server-side stored records, such as historical feedback emails, please contact us.
(4) Change the scope of your consent
You may withdraw your consent at any time. For example, you can stop using the App by uninstalling it, meaning moving it to the Trash. Withdrawal of consent does not affect processing based on consent before the withdrawal.
(5) Account cancellation
The App currently does not require account registration. Therefore, there is no account cancellation process. You can stop using the App by moving it to the Trash.
(6) Obtain a copy of user information
All usage data generated by the App, such as work duration and check-in records, is stored only on your own device and is not uploaded to our servers. Therefore, we cannot directly provide you with a copy of that data. You can view it in the App's Statistics window. If you need to know where the data is stored on your device so that you can copy or back it up yourself, please contact us and we will inform you of the local database or configuration file path.
(7) Restrict automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making mechanisms to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
(8) Responding to your requests
To protect security, we may first ask you to verify your identity. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may submit a complaint by emailing mobi.morefun@foxmail.com.
We may refuse requests that are groundlessly repetitive or require excessive technical effort. Refusal may also apply where permitted by law.
6. How we process children's personal information
Our products and services are primarily intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Anyone under the age of 14 is treated as a child, but please note that in some jurisdictions, such as EU member states, applicable law may require a higher minimum age for parental or guardian consent, such as 16. For users in those regions, we will follow the local legal definition of a child.
If we discover that we have collected a child's personal information without parental or guardian consent, we will try to delete it as soon as possible. If you become aware of such a situation, please contact us promptly.
7. How your user information is stored and transferred globally
SitLess is primarily a locally running desktop app. Except for the following cases, we do not upload or store any of your user information on our servers:
- When you use the feedback feature, the feedback content you voluntarily submit is sent to our mailbox by email. These emails are stored in our email system provided by Tencent Foxmail. Email transmission may pass through international routes, and the degree of encryption depends on the security protocols, such as TLS, supported by your email service provider and ours.
- When you click document links inside the App, such as the Privacy Policy, the system browser directly visits our hosted website. Your access to that website is subject to its cookie and related policies, but the App itself is not involved.
Other than the above, all of your usage data, including work duration, check-in records, exercise logs, and custom break content, is stored only in the local app database or configuration files on your own device. We do not access, copy, or remotely read this data.
Because we do not actively collect or store users' personal data, except for optional feedback email information, there is no active cross-border transfer of data by us.
8. How this Policy is updated
Our Privacy Policy may change. Without your explicit consent, we will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy. We will post any changes to this Policy on this page. For material changes, we will provide more prominent notice, such as an in-app pop-up.
Material changes include, but are not limited to, major changes to service models, ownership structure, information sharing recipients, or your rights to participate in information processing.

We will respond to your request within 30 days.
